By choosing a degree that incorporates business and communications I am able to gain education in a vast number of topics. Instead of centralizing my studies to only one field of study I am able to grasp a broad range of educational topics that will prepare me for a wide range of career fields. In regards to business I have gained education in managerial economics, personal financial management, management and strategy, accounting, marketing and selling, and real estate fundamentals. By studying communications I am better able to handle daily interactions in a wide range of situations. I have gained these skills through courses on human communication, communication in business and the professions, writing for the professions, intergroup dialogues, gender and communication, and conflict and negotiation. I have obtained a competitive edge over my peers due to the skills I have obtained from both my business and communications concentrations.
