Working with at risk and under-privileged kids has been a very meaningful learning experience for me. While employed with the YMCA I worked at an after school program that kept kids off the streets until their parents got off work. The time I spent with these children was not only fun but made a difference in the children's lives as well as my own. I was able to understand different family backgrounds and learned how to positively impact children by being a role model and caregiver. This experience taught me organizational and leadership skills and helped me make a positive impact in my community.
